³⁵ And the people stood there watching, but the rulers also ridiculed him,^[a] saying, “He saved others; let him save himself, if this man is the Christ^[b] of God, the Chosen One!” ³⁶ And the soldiers also mocked him, coming up and^[c] offering him sour wine ³⁷ and saying, “If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself!”
